Getting Started

What is a prop firm?

A prop firm (short for proprietary trading firm) gives you its capital to trade. You don't deposit trading money. You prove your skills first, then trade their account and keep a share of the profits.

What is Day Trader Funding?

Day Trader Funding (DTF) is a prop firm for futures traders. You start with an evaluation, pass the rules, then get a funded account with our capital.

Do I need to be experienced?

No. Many beginners start here. We keep the rules simple and offer The Trading Floor if you want to watch a pro trade live.

Evaluation (The Tryout)

What is an evaluation?

An evaluation is a tryout. You trade a simulated account and try to hit the profit target without breaking the drawdown rule (fixed drawdown in evaluation). Funded accounts use intraday trailing while clearing the buffer, then EOD trailing after the buffer is cleared.

How long does the evaluation take?

There is no time limit. You must trade at least 3 days and reach the profit target. You can take as long as you want.

Is there a time limit?

No. There is no deadline to pass.

Is there a daily loss limit?

No. We do not use a daily loss limit during evaluation.

Is there a consistency rule?

No. We do not use a consistency rule during evaluation.

What does drawdown mean (plain English)?

Drawdown is your maximum allowed loss. Think of it as a safety line. If your account drops below that line, the evaluation fails.

What is fixed drawdown?

Fixed drawdown means your max loss line is set from your starting balance and does not trail upward. In funded accounts, you start with intraday trailing while clearing the buffer, then switch to EOD trailing once the buffer is cleared.

Funded Stage & Payouts

What does "funded" mean?

It means you passed the evaluation and activated your funded account. You now trade with our capital and can request payouts.

How do payouts work?

Once you clear your buffer, you can request payouts. You can request up to 4 payouts per month. Minimum payout is $100.

How fast are payouts?

Same-day/next-day processing during business hours.

What is the profit split?

You keep 80% of the profits. We keep 20%.

What is the buffer stage?

The funded account starts with a buffer stage. During buffer clearing you have intraday trailing drawdown (real‑time) while you build your cushion. When your profit exceeds the initial drawdown distance (the buffer), you clear it and earn EOD trailing drawdown — more room to trade your way.

Are there payout caps?

Yes. Payout caps are based on Green Day tiers, and the monthly cap is 15% of account size. You can request up to 4 payouts per month, with per-request limits based on your tier and account size.

No. There are no subscriptions and no data fees.

The Trading Floor

What is The Trading Floor?

It is a live execution room. You watch a professional futures trader trade in real time and learn their process. It is not random signals.

When is it live?

Live M–F 9:15–11:00am EST. Market holidays excluded.

Portfolio Manager

What is a Portfolio Manager?

It's the professional trading desk reserved for consistent performers. You move from a funded sim account to real allocated capital with total freedom.

How do I become a Portfolio Manager?

Trade with discipline, build a track record, and follow the rules. When you prove consistency, you're promoted to Portfolio Manager.

Trading Style & Rules

Can I trade any style?

Yes. You can trade your own style during evaluation and funded stages as long as you follow the rules. Once you become a Portfolio Manager, you have total freedom.

What happens if I fail?

If you hit the drawdown, the account fails. You can reset for a lower fee and try again, or start a new evaluation.

Do I need my own money to trade?

No. You only pay the evaluation fee. We provide the trading capital once you are funded.
