Getting Started(12)

Day Trader Funding (DTF) is a proprietary trading firm that funds talented futures traders. Pass a simple one-phase evaluation, and you'll trade a funded account keeping 80% of profits. We're the most trader-friendly prop firm: no monthly subscriptions, no data fees, no daily loss limit, and no consistency rule.
Visit daytraderfunding.com and click 'Start Trading'. Select your desired account size (50K, 100K, or 150K) and complete checkout. You'll receive your trading credentials via email within 5 minutes.
We offer three account sizes: 50K ($3,000 buying power), 100K ($6,000 buying power), and 150K ($9,000 buying power). Each has proportional profit targets and drawdown limits. Larger accounts have higher payout tier caps in the funded phase.
We support two data feeds: Rithmic and Tradovate. You can use any front-end trading platform that connects to these, including NinjaTrader, Sierra Chart, Quantower, Jigsaw Daytradr, Bookmap, MotiveWave, Optimus Flow, ATAS, Volumetrica, and many more.
After purchase, you'll receive Rithmic credentials via email. In your trading platform, select Rithmic as your data provider, enter your username, password, and use 'Rithmic Paper Trading' as the server environment. Connection guides are available in your dashboard.
If you selected Tradovate during checkout, you'll receive Tradovate credentials. Log in at tradovate.com or through the Tradovate desktop/mobile app. You can also connect Tradovate to third-party platforms like NinjaTrader or TradingView.
Volumetrica is available as an add-on with our Volumetrica Bundle. After purchase, you'll receive a license key and download link. Install the software, enter your license key, then connect it to your Rithmic or Tradovate credentials. Volumetrica works as a standalone platform or as a NinjaTrader add-on.
You can trade all CME Group futures including: Equity indices (ES, NQ, YM, RTY and micros MES, MNQ, MYM, M2K), Energy (CL, NG, MCL, MNG), Metals (GC, SI, HG, MGC, SIL), Agricultural (ZC, ZS, ZW), Currencies (6E, 6B, 6J, 6A), and Treasuries (ZB, ZN, ZF). Check platform availability for specific instruments.
You can trade during regular CME Globex hours: 6:00 PM ET Sunday through 4:59 PM ET Friday, with a daily maintenance break from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM ET. All positions must be flat by 4:59 PM ET each day — no overnight holds.
You need a stable internet connection (wired recommended for active trading), a computer running Windows 10+ or macOS 10.14+, and sufficient RAM (8GB minimum, 16GB recommended). Mobile trading is supported via Tradovate's mobile app.
While we don't require proof of experience, futures trading is complex and risky. We recommend practicing on a demo account and understanding concepts like leverage, margin, and order types before purchasing an evaluation. We're not a trading education company — we're a funding company for traders who already have a strategy.
We accept traders from most countries worldwide. However, due to regulatory restrictions, we cannot accept traders from OFAC-sanctioned countries or regions where futures trading is prohibited. During checkout, you'll see if your country is supported.

Evaluation Rules(10)

The profit target is 6% of your account size: $3,000 for 50K accounts, $6,000 for 100K accounts, and $9,000 for 150K accounts. Hit this target while staying within drawdown limits, and you pass the evaluation.
EOD (End-of-Day) trailing drawdown means your maximum loss limit only updates at market close based on your highest end-of-day balance — NOT during intraday trading. This gives you breathing room to let winners run without worrying about intraday spikes triggering a breach. The drawdown is 4% of account size ($2,000 for 50K, $4,000 for 100K, $6,000 for 150K). In funded accounts, drawdown is two‑phase: intraday trailing while clearing the buffer, then EOD trailing after the buffer is cleared.
Example: You start a 100K account with a $96,000 floor (4% below $100K). Day 1 you make $2,000, ending at $102,000 — your floor moves to $98,000. Day 2 you're up $5,000 intraday then close at $101,500 — floor stays at $98,000 (only highest EOD balance counts). The floor trails up with you until it reaches the starting balance ($100K), then it's locked. (Funded accounts start with intraday trailing while clearing the buffer, then switch to EOD trailing.)
No! This is one of our biggest advantages. Day Trader Funding does NOT have a daily loss limit. Many prop firms kick you out if you lose $1,000 in a day — we don't. Your only limit is the drawdown: EOD trailing in evaluation, and two‑phase in funded accounts (intraday while clearing buffer, EOD after buffer).
No. We do not require consistency. Some prop firms require that no single day exceeds 30-40% of your total profit. We don't care. If you make your entire profit target in one trade on day one, that's fine with us.
No. Take as long as you need. There's no expiration date on your evaluation account. Whether you pass in 3 days or one year, the account remains active until you either pass or breach.
Absolutely. You must trade at least 3 days, but there is no time limit. If you hit the 6% profit target while staying within drawdown, you've passed. Submit your passing request through the dashboard and you'll be funded within 24 hours.
No. All positions must be closed by 4:59 PM ET each trading day. Holding through the close is a rule violation and will result in a breach. This applies to both evaluation and funded accounts.
Yes! Unlike many prop firms, we do not restrict trading during high-impact news events like FOMC, NFP, CPI, or earnings. Trade your strategy whenever markets are open.
If you breach (hit the drawdown floor or violate a rule), the account is terminated. You can reset it at a discounted price ($79 for 50K, $129 for 100K, $169 for 150K) to get a fresh start with original balance and drawdown.

Funded Account(10)

The core rules stay the same (no overnight holds, no daily loss limit), but drawdown becomes two‑phase. You start funded with intraday trailing while clearing the buffer, then earn EOD trailing after the buffer is cleared. The difference is you no longer have a profit target — just trade profitably and stay within drawdown. You'll receive new credentials for the funded account with live data.
Within 24 hours of submitting your passing request and completing KYC verification. Most traders receive funded credentials within 4-8 hours during business hours.
Funded accounts use intraday trailing drawdown while clearing the buffer. After the buffer is cleared, you earn EOD trailing drawdown — the floor updates only at end of day. You clear the buffer when your profit exceeds the initial drawdown distance. After that, EOD trailing applies and gives you more room for intraday swings.
Yes. Your funded account has the same core rules as evaluation, with the drawdown shifting to a two‑phase system (intraday while clearing the buffer, EOD after buffer). Whatever strategy got you funded will work the same way — no hidden rule changes.
You keep 80% of all profits. As you accumulate Green Days (days with $100+ profit), your payout tier caps increase. The remaining 20% supports the infrastructure that powers day-1 payouts, data fees at $0, and coaching.
Position limits scale with account size: 50K allows up to 5 contracts (or 50 micros), 100K allows up to 10 contracts (or 100 micros), 150K allows up to 15 contracts (or 150 micros). These are maximum position sizes at any given time.
Your maximum position size is fixed based on your account tier (50K/100K/150K), not your current balance. To trade larger size, you would need to purchase and pass a larger account tier or run multiple funded accounts.
Yes. You can run up to 3 funded accounts simultaneously per person. Each account operates independently with its own balance, drawdown, Green Days, and payout tier. This is a popular strategy to scale up capital.
If you breach your funded account, it's terminated. You keep any profits you've already withdrawn. You cannot reset a funded account — you would need to purchase and pass a new evaluation to get funded again.
Yes. Accounts (both evaluation and funded) are considered inactive after 30 days without a trade. Inactive accounts may be terminated. If you need extended time away, contact support to arrange a hold on your account.

Payouts(12)

Day 1. Once you're funded and above the minimum ($100), you can request a payout. No waiting period. Profitable on your first day? Request a payout.
Most payouts are processed same-day or next business day. We pride ourselves on fast payouts — when you earn money, you should get it quickly. Payout requests submitted before 2 PM ET on business days are typically processed the same day.
$100. You can request a payout anytime your available balance exceeds $100. There's no maximum frequency — if you're profitable and above the minimum, you can request payouts regularly.
You have 4 payout slots per calendar month. Each payout request uses one slot. If you've used all 4 slots, you'll need to wait until the next month. Unused slots don't roll over. Plan your payout requests strategically to maximize withdrawals.
A Green Day is any trading day where you net $100 or more in profit. Green Days determine your payout tier. The more Green Days you accumulate, the higher your per-payout cap. Green Days are cumulative and persist unless you breach and start a new funded account.
There are three tiers based on Green Days: Rookie (0-7 Green Days) with caps of $500-$1,500 per payout depending on account size. Trader (8-21 Green Days) with caps of $1,500-$4,500. Pro (22+ Green Days) with caps of $3,000-$9,000. The bigger your account and the more Green Days you have, the more you can withdraw per payout.
50K: Rookie $500, Trader $1,500, Pro $3,000 per payout. 100K: Rookie $1,000, Trader $3,000, Pro $6,000 per payout. 150K: Rookie $1,500, Trader $4,500, Pro $9,000 per payout. These are per-payout caps, and you have 4 slots per month.
We offer bank wire transfer (ACH for US, international wire for others), PayPal, and cryptocurrency (USDT and USDC on major networks). You can set your preferred method in your dashboard. Processing times vary by method: crypto is fastest (usually within hours), bank transfers take 1-3 business days.
Yes. If you breach your funded account, your tier progress (Green Days) is lost. If you pass a new evaluation and get funded again, you start back at Rookie tier with 0 Green Days. This is why protecting your funded account is critical.
The payout will be limited to your current tier cap. For example, if you're at Rookie tier on a 100K account (cap $1,000) and request $2,500, you'll receive $1,000 and the remaining $1,500 stays in your account for future withdrawals.
Yes. Payouts are considered taxable income in most jurisdictions. You're responsible for reporting and paying taxes according to your local laws. We do not withhold taxes. US traders may receive a 1099 if payouts exceed IRS thresholds. Consult a tax professional for advice specific to your situation.
You can withdraw profits up to your tier cap per payout slot. Your account needs to maintain funds above the drawdown floor to stay active. If you withdraw all available profits and then take losses, you could breach. Leave a buffer in your account.

Resets & Upgrades(6)

If you breach during evaluation, go to your dashboard and click 'Reset Account'. Pay the reset fee ($79 for 50K, $129 for 100K, $169 for 150K) and your account will be restored to its original balance and drawdown within minutes.
All trading history, P&L, and progress are wiped. You start fresh with a clean slate — original balance, original drawdown floor, as if you just purchased. Statistics from the previous attempt are archived but don't carry over.
No. Resets only apply to evaluation accounts. If you breach your funded account, you keep any profits already withdrawn, but the account is terminated. You would need to purchase and pass a new evaluation to get funded again.
No. Resets are purchased individually if you need them: $79 for 50K, $129 for 100K, $169 for 150K.
Currently, there's no direct upgrade path from a smaller funded account to a larger one. To trade a larger account, you would need to purchase and pass a new evaluation at the higher tier. You can run multiple funded accounts simultaneously (up to 3) to scale capital.
Our reset prices are permanently locked: $79 for 50K, $129 for 100K, $169 for 150K. These prices will never increase. It's part of our commitment to being the most trader-friendly prop firm.

Account Management(7)

Each account appears separately in your dashboard. You can switch between them to view stats, request payouts, or manage settings. Each account has its own credentials for your trading platform — you'll need to log in/out or use multiple platform instances to trade them simultaneously.
Log into your dashboard at daytraderfunding.com. Each account shows real-time balance, current drawdown floor, P&L history, and tier progress. You can also see this in your trading platform's account window, though the dashboard is the official source of truth.
Go to Settings in your dashboard and select 'Change Password'. For trading platform credentials, you'll need to update them in both the dashboard and your platform connection settings. If you've forgotten your password, use the 'Forgot Password' link on the login page.
Contact support@daytraderfunding.com to request an email change. For security, we verify email changes manually. Provide your current email, new email, and account details. Changes are typically processed within 24 hours.
Email support@daytraderfunding.com. We respond within 4 hours for payout and urgent trading issues, and within 24 hours for general inquiries. Include your account email and a clear description of your issue. Live chat is coming soon.
No. Accounts are non-transferable. Each account is linked to the individual who purchased it and completed KYC verification. Attempting to trade someone else's account or share credentials is a violation of our terms and will result in account termination.
Accounts become inactive after 30 days without a trade. Inactive accounts may be terminated. If you need extended time away (vacation, personal circumstances), contact support beforehand to arrange an account hold. We're flexible for legitimate situations.

AI Risk Manager(7)

The AI Risk Manager is an optional add-on that monitors your trading in real-time and can automatically flatten positions or lock your platform before you breach account rules. It's like having a digital risk manager watching your back, protecting you from emotional decisions and rule violations.
It connects to your trading account and monitors real-time P&L, position sizes, drawdown proximity, and trading patterns. When you approach danger zones — like getting close to your drawdown floor or showing revenge-trading patterns — it can alert you, auto-flatten positions, or temporarily lock trading to prevent a breach.
Pricing is subscription-based: $29/month, $69/quarter (save 21%), or $199/year (save 43%). The subscription covers all your accounts — pay once, protect everything. You can cancel anytime, and it won't affect your trading accounts.
If you've ever blown an account due to emotional trading, revenge trading, or just losing track of your P&L — yes, it's worth it. A single prevented breach saves you the cost of a reset ($79-$169) or worse, losing a funded account. Many traders find it pays for itself quickly.
You can configure alerts for: approaching drawdown floor (e.g., within 25%, 10%), unusual position sizing, rapid consecutive trades (potential revenge trading), approaching position limits, and end-of-day reminders to flatten. Alerts come via email and/or dashboard notifications.
Yes! The AI Risk Manager works on both evaluation and funded accounts. Using it during evaluation can help you develop disciplined habits and protect your account while you're learning the rules. Many traders start using it in eval and continue into funded.
Yes. You can configure alert thresholds, enable/disable auto-flatten, set daily loss warnings, and customize which patterns trigger alerts. The default settings work well for most traders, but you can tailor it to your trading style.

KYC & Verification(6)

KYC (Know Your Customer) verification is required before receiving a funded account and processing payouts. It's a regulatory requirement that helps prevent fraud and money laundering. It also protects legitimate traders by ensuring only verified individuals can access funded capital.
You'll need: (1) A government-issued photo ID (passport, driver's license, or national ID card), and (2) Proof of address dated within 90 days (utility bill, bank statement, or government letter). Both documents must clearly show your name and match your account information.
Most verifications are completed within 24 hours, often much faster during business hours. If there are issues with your documents (blurry images, mismatched info), we'll email you for clarification. Clear, high-quality document uploads speed up the process.
If rejected, you'll receive an email explaining why (common reasons: blurry image, expired ID, address mismatch). You can resubmit corrected documents. If you believe the rejection was in error, contact support@daytraderfunding.com with your documents attached for manual review.
Yes. We use bank-level encryption (256-bit SSL) for all data transmission and storage. Your documents are processed by our KYC verification partner (who is SOC 2 compliant) and are not shared with third parties except as required by law. We take data privacy seriously.
You don't need KYC to purchase an evaluation or start trading. KYC is required when you pass the evaluation and request a funded account, and before processing any payouts. We recommend completing it as soon as you pass to avoid delays in getting funded.

Billing & Refunds(8)

We offer a 14-day refund on evaluation purchases if you have not placed any trades. Once you place your first trade, the evaluation is considered used and is non-refundable. Resets, add-ons (Volumetrica, AI Risk Manager), and funded accounts are non-refundable. See our full Refund Policy page for details.
We accept all major credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover) and cryptocurrency. Payments are processed securely through TailoredPay. PayPal is not currently available for purchases (only for payouts).
Yes. A receipt is automatically emailed after purchase. You can also download receipts from your dashboard under Billing History. If you need a custom invoice for business/tax purposes, contact support with your requirements.
If your card is declined, try: (1) checking the card number and expiration date, (2) ensuring sufficient funds, (3) contacting your bank as they may be blocking the international transaction, or (4) trying a different card. If issues persist, try paying with cryptocurrency or contact support.
No. Day Trader Funding charges a one-time evaluation fee. There are no monthly subscriptions, no data fees, no platform fees, and no hidden charges. You pay once and keep the account forever (until you pass and get funded, or breach).
No. Real-time market data is included free with your account. You won't pay separate exchange fees, CME fees, or data subscription costs. This saves traders $50-150/month compared to retail data feeds.
Yes. Enter your discount code in the promo code field during checkout. Only one code can be used per purchase. Follow our social media for occasional promotional codes and special offers.
All prices are in US dollars (USD). Your bank or card issuer may charge a currency conversion fee if you're paying from outside the US. Cryptocurrency payments are processed at current exchange rates.
